Ericka E.
Private tutor in Wakefield, MA
Education
Hello! My name is Ericka, and I am a rising sophomore at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. I am a prospective Hispanic Cultures and Literatures and Government double-major. I am also pursuing a certificate in Civic Engagement. I am also a member of the varsity Women's Basketball team, so I can provide tips for time management. I look forward to working with you!
Experience
I received a 5 on the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam, and a 4 on the AP English Language and Composition Exam. I have been studying the Spanish language since middle school, and in high school I created an independent study project where I examined social justice issues in Spanish films. In the second semester of my freshman year at Wesleyan, I took a tutorial on language pedagogy, where I created lesson plans that I implemented as a Spanish TA at the local high school. I am a Deans' peer tutor in Spanish; to become a Deans' peer tutor, a student must achieve an A- at least in the desired course. I attended Middlesex School, a private co-ed high school in Concord, MA. I then took a post-graduate year at Deerfield Academy, a private, co-ed high school in Western Mass. I graduated with honors.

Hobbies
In my limited free time during the school year, I volunteer as a Spanish teaching assistant at the local public high school. I am also a Deans' peer tutor for the Spanish 101, 221, and 279. I love the show 'The Office,' and am a member of the Women's Basketball team. I also pursue internships relative to my career ambitions; I hope to be a Foreign Service Officer, and am currently a legislative intern at the Massachusetts State House. I am also a Mental Health Counselor at a local behavioral care clinic, and personal driver.
