Experience
My favorite subjects are writing, literature, art history, and drama. Because of my love of the English language and literature, I currently work as an adjunct professor for English courses at a private college in Boston. While assisting students in the classroom is necessary, I also meet with my students during office hours. During these meetings, I have the chance to work with each student in a one-on-one setting. I tend to spend as much time listening to my students and their needs as I do teaching. My main goal and purpose is to help students gain an understanding of the material they are being taught. However, I also find it equally as important to help my students build their confidence levels up with practice. I believe the best tutors will ask questions to their students and allow students to ask questions. This allows for the tutor to respond, clarify, and recommend solutions for any trouble areas. Personally speaking, I find it to be very gratifying when a student improves in an area that I have taught them in. I also find it fulfilling when a student has a new found love for learning. When I am not working, I have my eyes glued to interesting short stories and novels. I also love theater and live performances.
